Playa Maya Water Park to add new rides

The Playa Maya Water Park in Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort will construct the second phase of its expansion project adding a 30,000-square-meter area this year, according to the local tourism bureau.

Water rides including one called a "free-fall drop", imported from Canada, are expected to provide the ultimate fun challenge for visitors. The newly added water castle, paddle area, treasure explore area as well as another 80 rides will offer greater choice and fun for family days out.

Since opening in 2013, the park has seen a total of two million visitors in just two operating months every year. This year, the park will bring in the latest rides from abroad to combine thrills and fun for all ages, and strive to become one of the largest water amusement parks in Southeast China.
