Chenshan Botanical Garden hosts tree adoption activity

To further raise the awareness of greening and encourage students to actively participate in its tree adoption activity, Chenshan Botanical Garden hosted such an activity on June 5, which was World Environment Day.

Nearly 200 teachers and students from Xiwai Foreign Language School in Shanghai attended the event. Shen Shuai, vice director of Chenshan Botanical Garden and Zhang Yu, headmaster of Xiwai Foreign Language School jointed announced the opening of the tree adoption ceremony.

Meilin at Spring View Park in Chenshan Botanical Garden was selected as the tree adoption area where signboards would be placed on display for adopters. To ensure the tree adoptions took effect, the garden staff will pay attention to cultivation, and adopters are encouraged to be personally involved in weeding, watering and other maintenance work from time to time.

Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden boasts rich plant resources and gardening experiences. In the future, it will continue to promote tree adoption activities, to enhance students' sense of responsibility to protect the environment and encourage them to actively participate in environmental protection activities.
