On June 2, Chenshan Botanical Garden in Shanghai hosted a series of special events themed "fragrant Duanwu, cool summer" to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival.

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Duanwu Festival, is traditionally celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. It fell on June 2 this year.

The festival commemorates the ancient Chinese poet Qu Yuan. Chinese people traditionally eat zongzi, a rice dumpling, and race dragon boats during the holiday.

Visitors were able to make free blessing sachets at Gate 1 at 11 am and 2 pm. The inside aromatic plants are from Chenshan Botanical Garden which are pollution-free.
