In the upcoming May Day holiday, various colorful activities can be enjoyed at Sheshan Mountain.
The Shanghai Happy Valley In the first three days of May, the Valley will hold a grand musical feast, where twelve campus bands, each with unique features, will bring perform of their best.
On every Friday and Saturday in May and June, and during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, night tickets of 80 yuan ($12.80) per person after 5.30 p.m. will be made available.
How to get there: Get off subway 9 at Sheshan station, and then take the Happy Valley shuttle bus or the free ring bus from the Sheshan resort across the street.
Shanghai Yuehu Sculpture Park The park will hold two exhibitions during the holiday: the 2014 "Sheshan Yuehu Lake Impression" photography contest exhibition and a patriotism educational exhibition, which will be divided into three sessions: one about the life of Song Qingling, one commemorating the 120th anniversary of the 1984 Sino-Japanese war (the Jiawu Sea Battle), and one about the history of the Diaoyu Islands.
The park is offering the following discount policies: 100 yuan ($16.00) per adult from Mondays to Fridays and 120 yuan ($19.20) on weekends (Buy 2 get 1 free; holidays excluded).
How to get there: Get off at Sheshan station on subway 9, and then take the free ring bus from the Sheshan resort. Get off at Yuehu Sculpture Park.
Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden though the Orchid show is over, it is now the season for Chinese herbaceous peonies. Visitors can also have an adventure in the plant maze beside the Chinese herbaceous peony garden and the osmanthus garden. The garden will also be holding a science popularization activity for scented plants. In addition to display boards and interactions, citizens will be able to watch the process of extracting essential oils from plants.
