During the Qingming holiday, Shanghai Happy Valley hosted a Hip-hop PK Contest, which brought together hip-hop masters to dance together.

The dance competition was divided into two sections: a "routine team dance" and "freestyle solo individual competition". On April 5, in the preliminary round, 30 individuals and 10 hip-hop teams stood out and got through to the semi-finals and thence to the finals. Eventually, the Top 3 Individual winners and Top 3 team winners were announced; and they will receive a 10,000 yuan ($1600) hip-hop dance development fund provided by Shanghai Happy Valley.

In addition to cash prizes, another highlight of the dance competition was the professional judging. Shanghai Happy Valley especially invited Hu Hongjun, deputy director of the hip-hop association of State Sports General Administration, Mei Er, director of SMG arts and humanities channel, and Wang Yizhou, choreographer of Dragon TV's " So You Think You Can Dance" program. These professional judges provided valuable on-site reviews of the dancing to help hip-hop fans make progress.

It is reported that the Shanghai Happy Valley outing season will continue until June 2. Visitors will have the chance to view 200,000 windmills, have fun with hundreds of amusements, and enjoy a series of events.

Apart from the Hip-hop PK Contest over the Qingming holiday period, a band PK Contest to be held during the May Day holiday and the Chinajoy Cosplay finals of the eastern region are also on the agenda.
