Sheshan scenic area has recently set up an official Wechat account 'Sheshan Redguard 12315" as a new channel to safeguard tourists' legal rights.

After accessing the accounts on WeChat, tourists can make complaints through texts, audio messages or pictures. According to the Sheshan Department of Industry and Commerce, the account will regularly push information about typical cases and regulations related to consumer protection to enhance the tourists' sense of self-protection.

In addition, the department is setting up contact points in many scenic spots, restaurants and accommodation areas. So far two demonstration contact points have been set up, one in the Chenshan Botanical Garden and another in Happy Valley. Over 300 disputes were tackled at these contact points last year. And the new WeChat account is expected to become a stronger umbrella for tourists' rights.
