Spring Outing Festival in Shanghai Happy Valley will kick off on March 29. |
The two months between March 29 and June 2 marks the spring outing season of Shanghai Happy Valley.
This spring, the valley has brought in countless windmills, both exotic and traditional ones. An ideal day out for families,the happiness of a family gathering together with blooming flowers and colorful windmills will make an unforgettable experience.
During the Qingming Festival holiday (April 5-7), the valley will be holding a grand street dance party. Any hip hop lovers can sign up for the various contests; you might even have a chance to become a superstar. The crew contest and the breaking solo contest will be held on April 5 and 6 and the finals will be on April 7.
After careful selection, twelve campus bands will be competing with one another in the valley from May 1 to May 3. Tourists to the valley during the May Day holiday will be able to enjoy a fantastic music feast.
Mother's Day in 2014 is on May 11. As a respect to all mothers, all female tourists can have half-price tickets on May 10 and May 11.
And as for the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, there is no less to enjoy. The east China finals for the annual Cosplay contest "Chinajoy" will come to the valley. Fifty teams will be competing for the entrance to the national finals. This will be a great party which anime fans would not want to miss.
This year, the Dragon Boat Festival happens to coincide with Children's Day. And from May 31 to June 2, any parent with a whole-price ticket can bring for free a child smaller than 1.5 meters tall.
Despite all these special events, the best experiences offered by the Valley might still be its countless recreational facilities.
Two classic routes are recommended:
1. an exciting trip: the Wooden Coaster Fireball – the Diving Coaster – the Mega-Lite – the Mine Adventure – the Twin-Tower heroes – the Power Storm – the Rolling Hump – the Flume Ride – the Perfect Storm;
2. a leisure trip: the flying theater – the Bumper Car – the Merry-go-round – the 4D theater – the real life drama of The Bund – the sightseeing boat – the Kenpei Pagoda – the Magical Theater – the Ranger Training Camp – a live performance of "A Happy Journey".
The evening trips to the Happy Valley offer a different but no less exciting experience. Starting from May 1, the evening ticket (after 17:30) for Fridays, Saturdays and holidays will cost only 80 yuan per person ($12.86).
