As part of a special activity themed Science in the Community, staff of Chenshan Botanical Garden recently brought their scientific knowledge about plants into Jianghong Court in Songjiang district, Shanghai city.
Many plants are known to clean the air, so they are especially useful these days with the amount of smog. The Chenshan Botanical Garden staff were invited by the neighborhood committees to lecture on cultivating plants to reduce its impact. Though it was raining, residents were intrigued by the lecture and turned up in force to gain a lot of practical knowledge.
As a national base of scientific education, Chenshan Botanical Garden devotes itself to disseminating scientific knowledge through various means, and aims to create an atmosphere of study and applied science among communities.
