Passenger flow at Shanghai airports on a single day hits 280,000

Hongqiao and Pudong airports saw a record number of passengers in the last 10 days, between January 16 and January 25.

The two airports have taken responsibility for the operation of 18,212 flights, a year-on-year increase of 9.35 percent. Passenger totals also reached up to 24,989 during the 10-day period, a year-on-year increase of 19.28 percent.

Statistics show that, on only the first day of the Spring Festival period, the number of passengers in the two airports reached approximately 250,000, a year-on-year increase of 22.1 percent. January 25 hit a record, with 279,500 passengers, an increase of 38.1 percent compared to the same day last year. Hongqiao Airport had 727 flights and Pudong Airport had 1,185 flights on that day, a total of 1,912 flights, a year-on-year increase of 15.8 percent.
