Chenshan Botanical Garden hosts 2013 volunteer commendatory meeting

Chenshan Botanical Garden in Shanghai hosted its 2013 volunteer commendatory meeting on December 27.

Shen Shuai, assistant to the garden’s director, along with staff at the department of science popularization and volunteer representatives, attended the meeting.

The Chenshan Botanical Garden Volunteer Team is a non-profit organization that promotes science popularization. It has 750 registered volunteers that are mostly college students. Since its establishment in Feb 2013, the organization has provided a total of 10,416 hours of volunteer service.

At the volunteer commendatory meeting, the volunteer team leader briefed attendees on their work in 2013. Five individuals and one group won annual awards for their outstanding performance in 2013.

Chenshan Botanical Garden highly praised volunteer contributions and promised to explore new ways to promote science popularization in 2014.
