Happy Valley theme park in Sheshan, Songjiang district, Shanghai, is getting into the Christmas spirit with the long-awaited Christmas Carnival, which will begin December 7.

The carnival will last from December 7 this year to January 5, 2014. During the carnival, evening sessions will continue until 9 pm every Friday and Saturday, as well as Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Abundant activities, concerts and performances will be organized throughout the carnival season.

Highlights this year include galas on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and a Santa Claus costume activity that will attract thousands of visitors.

To create a festive atmosphere, artificial snow will be spread along Victoria shopping street at the theme park's entrance and other major scenic spots. A Christmas market will also be set up to sell food, drinks and seasonal items.
