Plants cultivated in Chenshan Botanical Garden won gold, silver and bronze awards at the Shanghai International Succulent Plants Expo 2013.

The gold award went to a Ferocactus rectispinus plant whose spines reached 15 centimeters. The plant's average spine length is between four to 10 centimeters.

The silver award went to a Euphorbia bupleurifolia plant with a length of 30 centimeters, far ahead of the normally 10-20-centimeter-long plants in the same category.

The bronze award went to a dudleya plant covered in white powder, regarded as a rare phenomenon.

The plant expo attracted over 30 botanical organizations who displayed around 2,000 succulent plants. It's the largest of its kind and provided a learning and discussion platform for the industry.
