In mid-October, Chenshan Botanical Garden in Shanghai conducted a series of science popularization on-the-spot investigations.

The staff of Chenshan Botanical Garden visited Beijing Teaching Botanical Garden, Beijing Botanical Garden, China Science and Technology Museum, the ninth China (Beijing) International Garden Expo, and Shanghai Science & Technology Museum.

The staff also had in-depth discussions on the topic of promoting science popularization with their counterparts.

Since its opening in 2011, Chenshan Botanical Garden has made fruitful achievements in science popularization. However, due to constraints in transportation and location, it's still inconvenient for the public to participate science popularization activities in the garden. Chenshan Botanical Garden's main theme is 'Plants and Health' so it focuses on scientific content and awareness and provides a lovely garden landscapes that integrates research, popular science, landscaping and leisure.

The botanical garden opened in 2011 and was a 'Shanghai Popular Science Education Base' that year. It was also a 'National Popular Science Education Base' in 2012. It has devoted itself to providing a first-class interactive science education system and has held related activities such as onsite classes, summer camps, popular science forums and Fascination of Plants Day, which promoted popular science among Shanghai residents.
