Sheshan receives 360,000 visitors during National Day holiday

Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort hosted a variety of splendid activities and received 360,000 visitors during the National Day holiday from October 1 to 7.

From Oct 1-3, benefiting from good weather, all scenic spots in Sheshan National Tourist Resort were crowded. But later the booming tourism was affected by a rainstorm caused by Typhoon Fitow, which swept Shanghai. Regardless, Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort received 36,000 visitors in total during the Golden Week, generating tourism revenue of 25.1 million yuan ($4.1 million).

Chenshan Botanical Garden hosted the first Chenshan Parent-Child Music Week during the National Day holiday, attracting 40,400 participants. Apart from 14 concerts, families also enjoyed 10 parent-child themed activities, including a parent-child market, a parent-child workshop, a parent-child graffiti wall, parent-child photography, parent-child face painting, an illustration exhibition, a living library, creative hand-painting tents and a children’s art exhibition.

Shanghai Happy Valley organized the Shanghai Happy Valley International Magic Festival from October 1 to 7. Fifteen groups of eminent magicians from more than 10 countries and regions brought fabulous magic performances and street interactions to the event. The festival received over 70,200 visitors.

Other popular events included the fourth Yuehu Lake Pet Festival in Shanghai Yuehu Sculpture Park and the Tianma Circuit Carnival in Shanghai Tianma Circuit.
