Chenshan's first Family Music Week looks for young piano soloists

Integrating music and tropical plants, the first Chenshan Family Music Week, themed “Flowers and the Young” is aimed at promoting visitor interaction and participation. It will encourage children' passion for music and plants.

The show is organized by Chenshan Botanical Garden and the Songjiang district education bureau, Shanghai. It is co-hosted by the Songjiang district Youth Activity Center and Songjiang district Literature and Art Association's music and dance branch.

From October 1 to 7, there will be four phases of the show each day at the Chenshan Botanical Garden’s greenhouse for tropical fruits and flowers.

Entry conditions: 1. Pass the band eight (or above) piano test of Shanghai Conservatory of Music or Shanghai Musician Association 2. Possess a certain level of performance ability 3. Able to complete full-length songs independently.

Anyone who meets the conditions can register through the garden's official weibo (micro-blog) or the Songjiang district Literature and Art Association's music and dance branch. For more information about registration, entrants can also call Wang Songyan at 37792288-867. Remember, the time for registration lasts from September 5 to September 26.

On the day of the event, the participators and their parents are advised to arrive at gate 2 of the botanical garden one hour in advance and wait at the venue. The first song each participant plays will be for competition, while the rest will be for mere performance. After all performances, the judges will select one first prize, two second prizes, five third prizes and several consolation prizes.

Please note:

1. Every participant can be accompanied by at most two parents. After the performance, they cannot use their free ticket to stay in the garden.

2. The garden will be responsible for lunch and refreshments for participants and their parents.

3. All participants cannot be absent without good cause. If there is any emergency, please inform the organizer at least one day in advance.

4. The match is for public welfare purposes, so there will be no money awards.

5. Videos shot during the show will be for the judges. Photos will be used to publicize the garden. Chenshan Botanical Garden owns the right to use all the videos and photos.
