From August 10 to August 15, four researchers from the ornamental plant research group of Chenshan Botanical Garden (the Shanghai Chenshan botanical research center of the Chinese Academy of Science) investigated lotus resources in seven places in Jiangsu and Shandong provinces.

In spite of the extreme heat in East China, the research group collected nearly 100 specimens, including molecular samples and pollen, and took more than 1,300 photos.

Through the investigation, researchers have gained a more comprehensive understanding of lotus resources and cultivation conditions in Jiangsu and Shandong provinces.

The investigation also provided precious materials for the research group's future related studies and cross-sectional research.
