In Mining district of Yangquan, the Duannangou Community canteen offers residents like Ms Zhang a nutritious lunch for just 15 yuan ($2.05). Meanwhile, at the Dacun Elderly Apartment, caregivers regularly clean and tidy up, maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.
These initiatives reflect the district's commitment to enhancing elderly care services. Authorities have established a four-tier system that includes public institutions, home-based care, community support, and social supplementation.
The district is also pioneering a new "embedded community + home-based care" model, creating a 15-minute community elderly care service circle to enhance precision in service management.
The district is continuing to refine its elderly meal services, with 11 community dining tables now in operation, ensuring that all elderly residents in the district have access to home-based care services. It has also completed elderly-friendly renovations for 67 elderly households and launched home visit care services.
Seniors in need receive comprehensive support, including transportation assistance, home cleaning, daily care, bedridden care, dietary support, health management, rehabilitation assistance, psychological counseling, and proxy services.
Additionally, the district has established a standardized talent development system to build a high-quality, professional, and tiered workforce dedicated to elderly care. Regulatory efforts are being strengthened to improve service quality.
The district has established three community elderly care service stations, five nursing homes, eight elderly care service institutions, 11 community elderly dining halls, and 13 rural elderly day care centers.
