A theme forum called Top 500 Enterprises in Dialogue with Shanxi was hosted by the Shanxi Department of Commerce and Guochuang Think Tank in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on May 29.

Representatives of Fortune Global 500 Enterprises, large State-owned enterprises, and government officials of Shanxi attended the forum, intending to expand cooperation on investment and trade.

Renowned experts from the Guochuang Think Tank, distinguished former officials associated with the Policy Research Office of the CPC Central Committee, and top representatives of Shanxi Pacific Coalbed Methane Research Institute convened to share their profound insights and expertise. These accomplished individuals delivered thought-provoking speeches, covering an array of crucial topics that hold paramount importance in today's context. Some of the key areas of focus included enhancing the business environment by adhering to the principles of the rule of law and fostering a correct and enlightened perspective on energy and environmental preservation.

Tang Zhiping, vice-governor of Shanxi, said that in recent years, Shanxi has focused on creating a market-oriented, rule-of-law, and international business environment, providing enterprises with investment platforms and opportunities.

Leaders of Fortune Global 500 Enterprises, such as LafargeHolcim based in France and CJ Corp based in South Korea, shared their opinions.

"China has historically been the most important market for LafargeHolcim. As a major energy province and an ecologically important area in the Yellow River basin, Shanxi province has great development potential and space," said Liu Lijia, chief representative of LafargeHolcim in China. He hoped to help Shanxi's high-quality development in ecological governance, energy construction, and transportation infrastructure.

In the project signing process of the forum, agreements on seven representative projects involving new energy, high-end manufacturing, chemicals, and new materials, were inked.
