Updated: 2025-03-28
North China's Shanxi province recently outlined its key industrial chain priorities for 2025. By the end of this year, it aims for these chains to exceed 800 billion yuan ($110.12 billion) in revenue and host over 800 enterprises.
Shanxi will implement a "government + chain chief + industrial park" investment promotion strategy in the pharmaceutical sector. The province will host industrial chain investment matchmaking events based on major exhibition platforms and support cooperation among chain enterprises to boost local investment. Additionally, Shanxi will continue to develop specialized pharmaceutical consumer goods parks and attract leading pharmaceutical enterprises and key projects from outside the province.
Shanxi will encourage enterprises to tackle critical core technology issues, expand application scenarios, and enhance product competitiveness within the third-generation semiconductor industry chain. The province will strengthen talent cultivation and organize technical cooperation and promotion activities to expand the third-generation semiconductor industry chain.
Shanxi will integrate resources in the new energy storage sector to build a comprehensive industrial chain encompassing anode and cathode materials, separators, electrolytes, energy storage batteries, system integration, and technical services. The province aims to foster deep cooperation among equipment manufacturers, system integrators, and technical service providers.
In the information technology integration and application industry, Shanxi will focus on 16 key projects. These include the national hub nodes for the integrated computing power network in Taiyuan and the third phase of the Datong ZDATA Green Big Data Industrial Base. The province will strengthen project monitoring, dynamic management, and service support to ensure timely project commencement, construction, and operational effectiveness.
