North China's Shanxi province is accelerating the construction of a new energy system this year to balance stable energy supply with green, low-carbon transformation and cultivate new quality productive forces in the sector.

Shanxi will focus on building five key systems: green and low-carbon energy consumption, clean and efficient energy production, self-reliant energy technology innovation, efficient and collaborative energy governance, and open and win-win energy cooperation.

The province will advance the construction of national wind and solar bases, plan the layout of provincial-level wind and solar bases, and promote green electricity industrial parks as demonstration leaders. It will also innovate green supply mechanisms, expand green application scenarios, and promote the local transformation of green resources.

Shanxi will continuously optimize traditional energy supply methods and drive the power industry to achieve "carbon peaking and neutrality" goals while prioritizing conservation. Efforts will also be made to advance electricity substitution in clean heating, buildings, transportation, and other energy consumption sectors.

The province will ensure safety management to eliminate power hazards. It will also optimize and enhance the efficiency of government services in the energy sector to improve its overall governance environment.
