The Jining-Datong-Yuanping High-speed Railway, connecting Inner Mongolia autonomous region and North China's Shanxi province, commences operations on Dec 31. This marks the addition of a major high-speed rail corridor between the two regions.
The new route will significantly reduce travel times. The journey from Ulaanqab to Datongnan Railway Station will take 40 minutes, with Huhehaotedong Railway Station to Taiyuannan Railway Station taking as little as 3 hours and 12 minutes.

The line's total length is 309 kilometers, and its designed speed is 250 km per hour. Its route covers nine stations, including Ulaanqab, Fengzhenbei, Datongnan, Huairendong, and Yingxianxi.
Before the opening, railway authorities meticulously organized related units to conduct joint debugging, testing, acceptance checks, and safety assessments on all professional equipment along the new route. The results confirmed that the line meets the safety and stability requirements for high-speed rail operations and is ready for service.

The railway department plans to operate up to 132 cross-line multiple unit trains daily, with schedules varying between regular and peak periods. To meet diverse travel needs, the department will implement flexible discounts and differentiated market-based pricing on the Jining-Datong-Yuanping High-speed Railway.
The operation of this new route will enhance the regional rail network, promote economic and social development along the line, and support the implementation of Central China's rise initiative and the Western Development strategy in the new era.
