The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has unveiled 12 national ice and snow tourism boutique routes for 2024-2025 to enrich ice and snow tourism offerings and further promote their consumption. Among them is Shanxi province's "Charming Ice and Snow and Ancient Architectural Treasures" route.

This boutique route spans Datong, Shuozhou, and Xinzhou cities. It features the Datong Wolong Mountain, Huairen Qianshan, and Youyu Nanshan ski resorts, as well as Huairen Qingliang Mountain Ice and Snow Resort.

Unique activities include the Datong Ice and Snow Carnival, Datong Joyful Ice and Snow Season, Youyu Ice and Snow Carnival, and Xinzhou Ice and Snow Carnival. Other scenic spots along the route include Shanhua Temple, Datong Ancient City Wall, Hengshan Mountain, Xuankong Temple, Qingliang Mountain, and Wutai Mountain.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has urged local departments to enhance infrastructure and public service facilities, elevate ice and snow tourism service standards, and enhance the overall consumer experience.
