Shanxi projects win recognition at sports expos

The 2023 China Sports Culture Expo and China Sports Tourism Expo are taking place from Dec 8 to 11 in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province.
A total of 29 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions from across the country have been participating in the events. The exhibition area for North China's Shanxi province has seven areas, showcasing its achievements and innovations in sports culture, sports tourism, national fitness activities, sports events, sports industry bases, and sports tourism demonstration sites.
The events have attracted more than 500 domestic and foreign exhibitors. Shanxi has had over 10 exhibitors, covering areas such as sports culture, sports tourism, and the sports industry.
At the opening ceremony, Fushan Boxing and Xingyi Boxing, two intangible cultural heritage items and traditional Chinese martial arts from Shanxi, were selected as excellent projects of Chinese sports culture.
Six projects from Shanxi were selected to join the list of China's top 10 sports tourism projects. Jiulong International Ecological Tourism Area was rated as one of China's top 10 sports tourism scenic spots.
Datong city was recognized as one of China's top 10 sports tourism destinations and the city's Great Wall No 1 tourist highway outdoor sports route was rated among the top 10 sports tourism routes in China.
