Shanxi province in North China recently established a partnership with Matabeleland North Province in the Southeast African country of Zimbabwe. 

Lan Fo'an, governor of Shanxi, and Hon Moyo Richard, a member of the Cabinet Office of the President of Zimbabwe, signed the letter of agreement on behalf of both sides. 

Matabeleland North Province, where Victoria Falls is located, boasts strong tourism development prospects, rich natural resources such as coal, and broad prospects for cooperation with Shanxi on cultural tourism, natural resource development, and urban planning. 

The partnership is expected to boost development on both sides.
