The 2021 Shanghai City Promotion Convention, with the slogan "Embracing the CIIE, sharing a future", is scheduled to be held in Shanghai on Nov 6, according to a local news report.

The annual event, which was launched in 2019 by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and has been held every November in Shanghai for the past two years, aims to attract global enterprises and talent.

An array of activities, including keynote speeches, promotion conferences, and sharing meetings will be organized to showcase Shanghai's strong investment policies and environment.

Organizers said that this year's event will focus on the improvement of the city's "inner spirit and attraction" and its "soft power", and the city will show its determination to open up further to the outside world. The local government will discuss its efforts to promote the further opening-up of Pudong New Area and the implementation and effective results of some of its key plans related to the Lin-gang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the Hongqiao International Central Business District, providing global investors with a better environment for living and investment.

During the event, representatives of some international institutions will deliver keynote speeches on global investment trends and Shanghai's economic advantages in the post-pandemic period, and expats are expected to share their experiences working and living in the city, according to the event's organizers.
