The Pudong New Area Artificial Intelligence (AI) Talent Alliance, composed of representatives from AI enterprises, research institutes and incubators, was launched at Pudong International Talent Hub on June 27.

The main responsibilities of the alliance include talent introduction, talent training, decision-making consultation and the hosting of exchange activities.

A total of 26 AI enterprises and institutions, including Shanghai Cambrian Information Technology Co and Shanghai Qi Niu Information Technology Co, were awarded certificates.

At the launch ceremony, the alliance and the Overseas Talent Research and Innovation Team from the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences jointly released their new evaluation standard for AI talents.

Dr. Gao Ziping, a researcher at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, said that this is the first AI talent evaluation standard jointly issued by industry employers and professional institutions.

The standard classifies AI-related positions according to three categories – basic research, application and intelligent manufacturing - and forms a job list through analysis for key AI enterprises in Pudong New Area.

In the list, every job has its name and general standard setting, and 18 core posts were given specific descriptions.

On this basis, an evaluation index system for AI talents was set up. From the three dimensions of market recognition, knowledge technology and influence of the results, a score system consisting of 44 specific indicators was launched.

The standard aims to provide a basis for the classification and evaluation of talents in the AI field and guide employers and human resources institutions to standardize employment mechanisms and promote talents development.

Departments related to talent management, science and technology can use the standard as a reference in policy formulation, project reporting and services for enterprises.
