Jiading district of Shanghai displayed the latest development of its pillar auto industry at the 2017 International Expo for Tech Innovation Parks from Aug 16 to 18, at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.

At its 500-square-meter exhibition area, the district displayed smart-connected driverless vehicles, the EVCARD e-car rental project, new energy buses, and its Auto Innovation Park, building up its status as an automobile city.

Thanks to its outstanding performance at the expo, the Jiading Science and Technology Commission received an excellent tech innovation organization award. The Shanghai International Automobile City won an excellent tech innovation park award.

This expo is the first of its kind in China to focus on tech innovation parks, and attracted a large number of parks and institutions from home and abroad, as well as more than 32,000 visitors. Deals worth 11 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) were signed at the expo.

The district's attendance also drew attention to the Jiading Science and Technology Expo to be held from mid-August to mid-September.
