Organizers of the event included Alibaba Innovation Center Zhangjiang base and Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-tech Entrepreneurship Service Center.

Launched in 2016, the Zhangjiang base is the largest of Alibaba's four innovation centers in Shanghai and aims to nurture a high number of more unicorn companies, startups valued at more than $1 billion, through providing original technology and first-rate creativity. The base has helped 23 startup teams raise capital of over 80 million yuan ($11.6 million) and also allowed 100 local startups to access cloud computing technology.

As an opening event held last October, the base hosted a global entrepreneurship competition and succeeded in luring over 500 startup teams and attracting investment of more than 150 million yuan.
