Supported by the Shanghai government, Shanghai New Energy Vehicle & Key Parts Industrial Base was first established in July of 2009.

Located north of Shanghai International Automobile City, the base was designed to give priority to the research and industrialization of new energy vehicles, as well as the development of core technologies for key parts.

Focusing on advanced manufacturing, the industrial base encourages the incubation and development of companies in new energy vehicles over its 9.5 square kilometer area.
