Yantai in East China's Shandong province launched a fresh winter sports consumption season in Fushan district on Dec 19.

This event features 17 categories and 43 activities, including winter sports experience carnivals, family ice and snow festivals, the "Good Luck Shandong" Ice and Snow Carnival New Year's Eve, and the distribution of winter sports consumption vouchers.

Venues for these activities include the Yantai Ice Sports Center, Yantai Nanli Bijie Ski Park, Longkou Nanshan Ski Resort, and other winter sports facilities, communities, and businesses.

Following the opening ceremony, figure skating showcases and a range of ice games allowed spectators to immerse themselves in the allure and excitement of winter sports.

In recent years, Fushan district in Yantai has actively fostered the development of the ice and snow economy. Winter sports have gained traction at local schools, providing over 50,000 elementary students with the opportunity to experience the pleasures of ice and snow activities.

The district has also been proactive in hosting high-level winter sports competitions to increase the recognition and impact of its ice and snow brand.
