Yantai Airport handles 216,000 passenger throughput during 8-day holiday

During the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, Yantai Airport experienced a significant increase in air traffic.
During the eight-day holiday, the airport handled 1,840 flights, a year-on-year increase of approximately 127 percent, and around 216,000 inbound and outbound passengers, a year-on-year increase of approximately 197 percent.
The airport also had a cargo and mail throughput of approximately 777 tons, a year-on-year increase of about 55 percent. Departures at the airport peaked at 241 flights on Sep 30, while the peak for passenger arrivals (more than 30,000) took place on Oct 5.
Popular flights during the holiday included those to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu in Sichuan province, Shenyang in Liaoning province, and Xi'an in Shaanxi province.
Flight passenger occupancy rates in tourist cities such as Sanya in Hainan province, Yinchuan in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, Harbin in Heilongjiang province and Nanjing in Jiangsu province also increased by more than 80 percent, according to the airport.
To improve the travel experience, the airport added service guides in the terminal building, opened more security check channels, and strengthened services for the elderly and unaccompanied children.
