An industrial promotion event for the Dingziwan (Haiyang) Dual Carbon Intelligent Valley kicked off in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, on Sept 17.
The event introduced Haiyang, a county-level city in Yantai, East China's Shandong province, its key industries, and the development plans for the valley. A signing ceremony for major projects was also held.
Jiang Dan, mayor and deputy Party secretary of Haiyang, shared unique insights into the close relationship between Haiyang and Xi'an, and emphasized that Haiyang is currently ramping up efforts to open up to the world.
Jiang also said that now is the best time to invest in Haiyang, and that she is looking forward to sharing new opportunities and crafting a win-win cooperation with entrepreneurs.
Huang Xinbo, deputy head of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, said in his speech that national strategies related to China's dual carbon goals, aerospace and marine power have driven Haiyang's economic development to a high.
The event also marked a new starting point for cooperation between the two regions and will promote green, low-carbon and high-quality development, he added.
Ma Lilei, the current president of the Shandong Chamber of Commerce in Shaanxi, said the chamber will act as a bridge between the two regions.
The valley consists of three parts: the eastern area which is home to Shandong's first nuclear power equipment manufacturing park that has 32 nuclear and wind power projects; the central area which is focused on satellites, rockets, missiles, ships and instruments; and the western area, which is now striving to become a demonstration zone for green energy.
