Huang-Bohai New Area's four key projects were signed at an investment promotion event on Aug 29 during the 2023 Green, Low-carbon and High-Quality Development Conference in Yantai city, Shandong province.
These four projects, which have a total investment of more than 18 billion yuan ($2.48 billion) are the China Education Group Huang-Bohai Science and Education Park, the 25GWh lithium iron phosphate energy storage battery with a planned investment of 10 billion yuan, the Yantai Port West Port Area crude oil storage zone (3 million cubic meters) engineering project and the GMP formulation research and development facility for antibody-like macromolecular drugs.
Hu Jianfeng, vice-president of China Education Group, said: "I have witnessed the good business environment here. The service and efficiency in the new area are impressive. The science and education park will adhere to the concept of industry-education interaction, strengthen talent training and bolster the green, low carbon and high-quality development of Yantai."
The project has a planned land area of about 800 mu (53.36 hectares) and a total construction area of over 500,000 square meters. After completion, the campus will accommodate 20,000 students and 1,100 teachers and staff members.
In recent years, Huang-Bohai New Area has focused on the advancement of green electricity, green carbon and green energy, and made efforts in attracting investment for the hydrogen energy and nuclear power sectors, among others. Currently, the area is home to nearly 100 companies in the green and low-carbon industrial chain.
