To further promote China-South Korea Cultural Exchange, an art show was held in Yantai Huang-Bohai New Area on Aug 19, featuring diverse art and cultural performances from both nations.
This event was held in celebration of the 31st anniversary of the establishment of China-South Korea diplomatic relations and provides a platform for both Chinese and South Korean residents in the area to interact.
"I am very happy to be part of the art show. It was a blended Chinese and South Korean culture, and it made me feel at home," said a South Korean performer who has been living in the area's Xinghai community for eight years.
According to the organizer, most performers participating in the art show were from the Xinghai community, which consists of four smaller residential communities. It is home to 8,790 residents in total, among which over 700 are from South Korea.
In order to enrich the cultural life of the residents from both nations, the community has organized more than 20 cultural exchange activities featuring traditional costumes, paintings and food making.
Official data shows that Yantai Huang-Bohai New Area is home to over 600 South Korean companies and is one of the regions with the highest concentration of South Korean firms in China.
In the future, the area will continue to deepen cultural exchange between the two sides, introduce South Korean elements in animation, esports, culture and fashion, further promote bilateral cooperation and create an international city environment for business, life and tourism.
