The 2023 Automotive Logistics Global Conference kicked off in Yantai on July 6.
The event was co-hosted by the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP), the Yantai Municipal People's Government and Shandong Port Group (SPG), and co-organized by the China Automotive Logistics Association of CFLP and Yantai Port of SPG.
During the event, the Yantai Port smart and green ro-ro demonstration port for commercial vehicles was inaugurated. Two corridors, the Yantai-Central Asia commercial vehicle cross-border sea-rail combined transport corridor and the Yantai-Central/South America commercial vehicle maritime transport corridor were also launched.
In 2022, Yantai Port delivered 410,000 commercial vehicles, up 38 percent year-on-year, and the volume this year is expected to surpass 500,000 units. Furthermore, the port's commercial vehicle volume, foreign trade volume and international transit volume in 2022 was ranked fifth, third and first in the nation.
Moving ahead, SPG will fully tap into its role as a core node in supply chains, work together with Yantai to develop automobile industrial and supply chains, as well as consolidate its position as a national logistics hub, a ro-ro transportation center in Northeast Asia and a national commercial vehicle transit base to help drive the high-quality development of the global automotive logistics industry.
