A conference on the development of cultural tourism industry and investment promotion kicked off on May 16 in Yantai Huang-Bohai New Area, a coastal tourism destination in East China's Shandong province.
The event was aimed at showcasing the charm of local resources and strengthening communication and cooperation between the area and enterprises.
The deals for six cultural tourism projects, including the Huang-Bohai Art Center of Li Keran Academy of Painting, Alpha Group's animation and Lu Cuisine Town, were signed during the conference. The national-level Jinshatan tourist resort was also launched.
Featuring modern urban spaces distinguished by stylish design and livable neighborhoods, the Huang-Bohai area boasts untouched natural areas and diverse food options.
During the event, the area promoted a variety of projects such as the "Yantai Night" at Jinshatan tourist resort, the Yantai International Wine City, the Most Beautiful Coast at 37 Degrees North Latitude and Rural Microvacation.
The release of The Policy on Supporting the Cultural Tourism Industry in the Yantai Huang-Bohai New Area was another highlight of the conference. The policy maps out four-themed tourism routes for beach leisure, mountain health preservation, red wine and industrial research, and details specific measures to boost eight business formats: creative design, art display, publishing, animation and gaming, cultural performance, film and television, and exhibitions.
The Yantai Huang-Bohai New Area is aiming to attracting eight million tourists per year and realize a tourism revenue of more than 10 billion yuan ($1.43 billion) by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25).
"In 2018, we held an exhibition in the Yantai Huang-Bohai New Area and were deeply impressed by the environment. We will continue to deepen our cooperation with the area and work together to promote the high-quality development of the cultural industry," said Jiang Zhenyu, director of the external liaison department of Li Keran Academy of Painting.
To become a highland for the economy and culture, the area has accelerated the construction of more than 20 cultural tourism projects that have a combined investment of over 70 billion yuan.
