The 2023 Shandong Tourism Development Conference kicked off at the Qingdao International Conference Center on March 26, and Yantai, a city in Shandong province, promoted its culture and tourism products at the conference.
At the global event, Yantai signed 18 cooperation agreements with domestic and international enterprises to boost its tourism sector. Among them is a medical and health project, which is expected to be a benchmark project in Shandong to help develop the medical and health industry.
The city's culture and tourism bureau inked a strategic cooperation agreement with an international travel agency in Russia, and both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in tourism marketing and promotion, and exchange trainings.
At the conference, the city's Penglai district was awarded as one of the top 10 districts in Shandong for promoting the culture and tourism sector.
In recent years, Penglai district has leveraged its unique advantages in marine resources, forests, springs, wine, and festivals to develop integrated tourism and strengthen the tourism industry. It has launched a wide range of tourism products such as physical fitness activities, leisure and entertainment events, self-driving and camping to attract visitors.
