The Huang-Bohai New Area in the coastal city of Yantai, East China's Shandong province was approved as a permanent site for a China-South Korea joint proliferation and release effort that will help to restore fishing resources in the Yellow Sea. It is the first permanent site to be approved since China started transnational cooperation with Russia, South Korea and Vietnam to protect marine resources in 2017.
The activity aimed to deepen cooperation between Yantai and South Korea in the marine fishery industry. It was also an important measure to promote the development of the marine fishery economy and to protect aquatic living resources.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Republic of Korea. This year's event will be attended by officials at the vice-ministerial level from the two countries, and is expected to further consolidate and upgrade relations between China and the Republic of Korea.
Ma Lufeng, director of the Yantai Huang-Bohai New Area Marine Development Bureau said that the area will host a series of themed activities related to marine development and the fishery industry, aiming to deepen China-South Korea cooperation.
