More than 30 overseas students from Thailand, Russia, New Zealand and Vietnam got together to make dumplings at Ludong University on Feb 1 to welcome the Chinese New Year and sample traditional Chinese culture.

Kang Shiyong, the deputy president of Ludong University also took part in the activity and showed the students how to make the dumplings.

"The activity provided a chance for overseas students to get close to traditional Chinese culture and also promoted cultural exchanges among different countries," said Kang.

Ludong University in Yantai is making efforts to encourage international students to experience Chinese customs and traditional culture through traditional festivals and further promote the cross-cultural communication with people from different countries.
