CPPCC Yantai Committee commences

Yantai, a port city in East China's Shandong province held the third Plenary Session of the 13th Yantai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on Jan 15.
A total of 496 CPPCC members participated in the session to discuss major political, economic and social issues in the city.
Zhu Xiuxiang, the chairman of the CPPCC Yantai Committee reviewed the work of last year and introduced the major projects scheduled for 2019.
Since the second session of the 13th Yantai Committee of CPPCC, 641 proposals have been received, of which 470 have been put on file, Zhu said.
These proposals focus on the upgrading of industries, ecological civilization construction, green development and alleviating the pressure of employment.
During the session, 12 CPPCC members also put forward a series of proposals around how to further promote the shift of growth drivers to new ones, push forward with reform and opening-up and ramp up efforts to boost ecological tourism.
