Yantai, a coastal city in Shandong province, won a top innovation award at the 2018 World Industry Design Conference held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province from April 21-22.

The Top Innovation Award (TIA) is an international design award sponsored by the organizing committee of the World Industrial Design Conference. It is meant to encourage cities that are committed to promoting and developing industrial design.

Yantai is one of those cities. It has launched a batch of advanced industry design platforms to provide local enterprises with optimal industrial design solutions. To date, Yantai has one national industrial design center and 15 others at the provincial level.

The other cities in China to have achieved the award are Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen in Guangdong province, Hangzhou in Zhejiang province.
