On March 19, Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) hosted a launch for its one-person company (OPC) policy and the unveiling of innovation carriers, signaling a move toward next-generation entrepreneurship. The event introduced the first comprehensive policy checklist specifically designed to support OPCs — micro-enterprises founded and operated by a single individual using AI tools.
The initiative introduces measures, such as significant rent reductions across 90,000 square meters of designated pilot working space, along with subsidies for AI tools, startups, and loan interest.
Recognizing the importance of infrastructure, key industrial parks and major telecom providers, including BOE's Qingdao Innovation Center and China's three telecom giants, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, have revealed dedicated support packages. These packages cover computing power, foundational models, and customized guarantees. This collaborative approach aims to lower entry barriers and boost industrial momentum for solo entrepreneurs.
A key moment of the ceremony was the unveiling of new OPC innovation carriers, notably the One Person Intelligent Entrepreneur (OPIE) Service Station. This station provides an end-to-end support system, including spatial resources, algorithm assistance, talent development, and platform enablement.
As AI reshapes the business landscape, Qingdao WCNA is focusing on OPC cultivation, which is vital for enhancing new quality productive forces and stimulating market vitality. Moving forward, the area is committed to refining the industrial ecosystem to become a leading benchmark for AI-driven OPC development.
