Qingdao's Shinan district is positioning itself as the city's AI innovation hub by strategically integrating artificial intelligence across various sectors. As the designated zone for AI development within Qingdao's innovative industrial system, Shinan is securing the "intellectual high ground" in industrial progress.

A digital brain platform in Shinan's historic area generates real-time tourist traffic heat maps and consumer profiles, aiding in visitor flow management and business optimization. This platform, leveraging AI cameras, wireless APs, sensing devices, and big data analytics, exemplifies AI's role in smart street management and commercial growth.

Shinan is creating scenarios as testing grounds for AI implementation. Focusing on government, social, and industrial applications, the district aims to develop over 20 industry-level AI demonstration scenarios within three years. With a strong industrial ecosystem, Shinan is home to over 100 AI-related enterprises and is building a regional AI infrastructure system to reduce operational costs and enhance innovation efficiency.

"Shinan district will focus on four specific sectors: AIGC, intelligent agents, vertical domain models, and data elements," said a relevant official from the Shinan district's bureau of industry and information technology.

"Relying on city-level resources in computing power, data, and platforms, we will cultivate leading AI enterprises and establish a comprehensive ecosystem encompassing everything from technology to application. This initiative not only boosts the district's AI competitiveness but also provides a replicable model for high-quality AI development across Qingdao," added the official.
