The 2025 Qingdao (Shinan) Autumn Courtyard Art Event opened this week, turning more than 40 old downtown courtyards into pop-up stages for music, micro-drama and stand-up comedy.

Themed "Artful Shinan: A Courtyard Rendezvous", the event spans Qingdao's old downtown area, Taipingjiao art block, and Fushan Bay, connecting historic courtyards and alleyways.

The event will host over 300 artistic activities, blending public welfare performances with commercial operations to offer a diverse cultural and tourism experience.

This year's event focuses on new trends in cultural consumption by involving the micro-drama industry. It includes a "courtyard micro-drama shooting scene selection" activity and offers a "courtyard film and television shooting resource library" to promote a long-term connection between the film industry and the courtyard economy.

Significant investment has been made in content favored by Generation Z, blending trendy elements with the classical elegance of courtyards. The event features seven series of cultural activities under the theme "courtyards with drama", including the Second Liyuan Comedy Festival, Shinan cultural and museum study tours, courtyard dramas, concerts, art parties, and mass cultural activities.

From physical space renovation to cultural scene reconstruction and emotional value connection, the event is not only a cultural feast but also a comprehensive practice to promote urban renewal and industrial upgrading. It invites the world to experience Qingdao's unique charm.
