Organizers announced that the second Qingdao Comedy Festival will run Sept 19-28, transforming the century-old Liyuan courtyard complex into a ten-day "fun factory" with nearly 100 shows spanning stand-up, sketch, improv, and musical theater.

Local actors Huang Bo, Huang Xiaoming, Huang Zitao, and Fan Chengcheng serve as co-organizers for the event, curating nightly performances and surprise street pop-ups. Tickets go on sale Aug 25 via the platform Maoyan.

Last year's inaugural edition drew industry buzz and 600 million social-media views, boosting summer tourism alongside the Qingdao Beer Festival. Organizers say the 2025 program doubles local troupes and deepens integration with Qingdao dialect and culture.
