During the recent Dragon Boat Festival holiday, Qingdao's Shinan district experienced a vibrant surge in tourism as cultural experiences, scenic strolls, and creative events attracted visitors from around the nation. From bustling crowds at Zhanqiao pier to music filling street corners, the district became a dynamic blend of tradition, romance, and urban charm. Official statistics show that 11 A-level scenic spots in Shinan welcomed a total of 1.63 million visitors over the three-day break, an 8.8-percent year-on-year increase.
Holiday activities combined traditional culture with family-friendly fun. At the Museum of the Former German Governor's House, visitors crafted exclusive herbal sachets, blending the scent of mugwort with joyful family interactions. At the Former Residence of Zhao Taimou, tourists joined a fragrance-making salon, learning about local herbs and customs. A themed passport program encouraged exploration of seven former residences of cultural figures such as Lao She and Zhou Shujia, allowing visitors to experience the city's rich cultural heritage.
Innovative exhibitions like the "AI Xiangzi Chatroom" and immersive 3D displays added modern flair to Shinan's historical landmarks. From romantic seaside photoshoots to cultural journeys along historic streets, Shinan has become a magnet for young travelers and couples. The district is also embracing the growing wedding economy, positioning itself as a top wedding and travel photography destination.
With seaside cruises, children's fairs, and nighttime music on Fushan Bay, Shinan district offered a festive mix of tradition and modern trends, creating an unforgettable holiday experience.
