'Spring Sounds' choral concert captivates audiences in Shinan

On the evening of April 26, the "Spring Melody" choral concert, hosted by Shinan district's culture and tourism bureau and Shinan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, captivated over 4,000 live and online audiences at Qingdao Music Hall. Organized by the Shinan Cultural Center and Qindao Musicians Association, the Qindao Philharmonic Choir delivered a mesmerizing performance, blending classic and contemporary harmonies.
With the theme "Spring Sounds", the concert featured 16 choral pieces, offering a blend of classical and contemporary styles. Iconic songs such as The Blue Danube, Velvet Flowers, and The Evening Bell of Nanping were performed alongside popular adaptations like By Lake Baikal and Deer BE FREE. The performances included a variety of formats, such as mixed choirs, male quintets, and female trios, all enriched by piano, accordion, and ocarina accompaniment.
The diverse selection of songs ranged from the bittersweet emotions of farewell ballads to the energetic rhythms of folk tunes and the soothing beauty of popular melodies. The concert reached its emotional climax with Love Endures and I Love You, China, stirring a deep sense of pride in the audience. Following the enthusiastic applause, the choir returned for an encore, performing What The World Gives Me, ending the evening on a high note.
The Qindao Philharmonic Choir, under the direction of Sun Daodong and conductor Lou Weibao, exemplified the thriving cultural spirit of Qingdao and showcased Shinan's rich musical heritage and artistic vitality.
