Qingdao's Shinan district is experiencing a robust "first-store economy", driving a surge in consumer activity.
The allure of "first stores" stems from their focus on new consumption scenarios, business models, and product services, in order to cater to the current trend of personalized and diversified consumer demands.

A prime example is the South Korean bakery brand "Butterful & Creamorous", nestled in the MixC shopping mall of Shinan district. It has become a favorite among lovers of baked goods, and still draws daily queues a year after its launch. This location marks the brand's debut in Shandong and continues to attract crowds seeking a novel shopping experience.
Shinan Fushan Bay business area stands out as a hub for such first stores, with over 300 various first stores, making it the most concentrated area in the province.

Last year, Shinan introduced 56 new types of first stores and fashion-related stores, and the 2024 Shinan district government work report outlines plans to add more than 20 first stores. The district's strategy to continue introducing first stores promises to sustain its status as a consumption hotspot, offering unique retail experiences and driving economic vitality.
