Sept 23 marks this year's Autumn Equinox (秋分), the 16th solar term on the traditional Chinese lunar calendar. Most areas in China are enjoying the cool autumn weather. 

Here are some recommended places to enjoy autumn days in Qingdao's Shinan district.

Qingdao coastal scenic area

Qingdao coastal scenic area is part of the first batch of national 4A-level tourist attractions, and is one of a few coastal scenic areas in China that is situated in a city's downtown area.

It boasts natural capes, beaches and rocks, as well as a variety of the city's iconic scenic spots such as Xiaoyu Hill, Xiaoqingdao Park, Luxun Park, Qingdao No1 Bathing Beach and Wusi Square.

Coastal walkway

The coastal walkway links major scenic spots along the coastline of Shinan district like a pearl necklace.

It is a great place to take a walk, go jogging or ride a bike while enjoying the enchanting ocean scenery.

Taiping Mountain scenic area

Taiping Mountain is one of the hot spots in downtown Qingdao that has the best view of the city.

The mountain winds from west to east, and is home to Zhongshan Park, Qingdao Zoo, Qingdao Celebrities Sculpture Park, Qingdao Botanical Garden, Zhanshan Temple and Qingdao Television Tower.
