2024 Qindao Intl Music Festival closes with symphony of success

Qingdao once again dazzled, with the sound of music resounding beneath its summer night skies. On Aug 13, the grand finale and closing concert of the 2024 Qindao International Music Festival took place at the Qingdao Grand Theater.

Following a series of intense preliminary rounds, top talents in various categories gathered to compete for the highest honor — the Qindao Music Award. The event buzzed with anticipation as a distinguished panel of judges, including renowned conductor German Gutierrez, Liu Zhaolu from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, acclaimed violinist Lin Wei, and erhu master Xue Ke, evaluated each performance with meticulous care. In the end, Liang Yutang, a student from the Central Conservatory of Music, stood out, winning a cash prize of 10,000 yuan ($1397) and securing opportunities for international performances.
The closing concert was a highlight, featuring a range of Chinese classical compositions performed by esteemed musicians from across the country. Notable performances included the erhu piece Horse Racing and the pipa composition Ambush from Ten Sides, which together created an unforgettable auditory experience.
